In this book we have Lady Isabel and Lord Nicholas St. John as the main characters. What happened is that a women's magazine considered Nick to be the best catch in London, and so all the girls started wanting to marry him and flirting with the poor guy. However, he hates all this attention and when Simon, his duke friend, asks him to find his missing sister, he gladly goes. On this journey, he meets Isabel, the daughter of a Count and who, because her father left nothing for her and her brother when he died, needs to sell her collection of statues to keep her and the people she loves safe. So the two end up getting to know each other and having to deal with each other's secrets (besides, of course, their intense passion).
Okay, this book was not bad, but it was not my favorite of my life. I still gave it 3,5 stars because I liked the book and it flowed really well, besides the fact that I loved all the characters, but I don't know, I just didn't think MY GOD, THAT IS A SENSATIONAL BOOK, you know?
One thing that annoyed me while reading it is that they want to [*****] each other ALL THE TIME. Like, they just met and they were already kissing and showing how attracted they were to each other and while this is OK and often nice to have in books, I found it just too much. The whole relationship of the two took place in like, 3 days, and much of the book comes down to the two of them having sex or something.
I really liked Rock, Nick's friend, even though he didn't have that much of a presence, he's a cutie. But, I found things in the book a little too dramatic, you know? Like, a big part of the problem, especially for Isabel, was her "secrets", but it was no big deal. And in the end the two of them ended up fighting because of that (also because of his secrets) and I thought it's something that just lacked sense, because it wasn't even a big deal.
Other than that, and I know it seems like a lot to talk about, the book was very enjoyable to read. I think these points I brought up in the reading are more personal things than whether the book is good or not, so it's up to you to know if your tastes match the author's type of writing.
