The Other Black Girl

O livro não tem plot, não tem personagem bom, não tem coerência e não é bem escrito.

Gostei muito da premissa do livro e o que mais me animou foi a comparação à obras do cinema que eu gosto tanto. Mas chega até a ser um insulto a "O diabo veste prada" ser comparado com isso. A autora não soube desenvolver o livro de forma coerente e nada nesse livro prende ou cativa o leitor, o que me faz questionar a razão de uma obra tão mal feita estar publicada e ninguém da editora ou familia ter falado para a autora "amiga, não".

Não só a escrita me decepcionou mas também a forma em que foi tratada as pautas raciais. Virou piada. Ficou ruim. Ficou forçado. O que é uma pena pois inicialmente você encara a obra como uma pauta importante a ser discutida.

Não gosto de falar dessa maneira, geralmente apenas digo que "o livro não foi para mim", mas não vou enganar ninguém com eufemismos. É bem ruim. Bem ruim mesmo.

Me quebrou ela tentar terminar o livro como se fosse um grande mousse.
