Livro conta como a sagui Mitz entrou na vida do casal Woolf quando seus donos foram viajar. Mitz jamais voltou para eles. O carinho, a paciência e, principalmente o cuidado de Leonard com a pequena sagui são retratados de forma muito bonita, espero que a maior parte seja verdade.

Há um ponto que não pode passar em branco, Mitz veio do Brasil junto com outros animais, chegando debilitada, enquanto tantos outros morreram no trajeto. É um lembrete de como animais e povos nativos das Américas eram levados para a Europa como distração exótica. Bizarro como a chamada “sociedade civilizada” sempre foi capaz das maiores crueldades.
