Helpless conta a história de uma linda menina chamada Rachel Fox. Muitas pessoas que a conhecem ficam encantadas com tamanha beleza. Ron é uma delas: depois que a vê pela primeira vez, decide que quer continuar a vê-la. Então, em uma noite, a mãe de Rachel está cantando em um bar e durante um blackout, Rachel é sequestrada.
Conforme o tempo vai passando, Rachel vai depositando mais confiança em seu sequestrador e começa a ficar amiga dele, enquanto sua mãe luta cada vez mais para tentar encontrá-la.

O começo do livro pode ser meio parado, mas conforme a leitura vai desenrolado, ficamos mais apreensivos para saber no que vai dar,principalmente em alguns momentos, cuja leitura é de tirar o fôlego.
