Dexter in the Dark é fraco, monótono, traz uma premissa sobrenatural que desequilibra a saga e consegue ser pior que a terceira temporada da série.

Não me levem a mal, a saga Dexter sempre foi fraca, não teria feito tanto sucesso se não fosse pela série de tv e dificilmente teria chamado a atenção de um produtor qualquer se não fosse pelo fato de que é inteirinha em primeira pessoa. Mas esse volume chuta o balde.

Não há nenhuma tensão no livro inteiro, e o clímax é tão fraco que como Dexter, você se sente tão deslocado e sem empatia que é um verdadeiro triunfo da força de vontade terminar o livro.

Para piorar a situação, talvez numa tentativa de injetar ânimo na fórmula, o autor cria uma trama baseada no sobrenatural que não só contradiz a premissa básica da saga - a saber, um psicopata que se vale de métodos científicos e racionais para selecionar suas vítimas e escapar da polícia - como também deixa toda a história com um vago de senso de... bem... "hã".

Se você é um fã Die Hard da saga, passe batido, não vai mudar em nada o seu acompanhamento da trama. Se você é novato, que cargas d'água está fazendo aqui? Volta para o primeiro livro ou você não vai entender nada! - do livro ou da resenha.
