Henry James utiliza uma escrita extremamente detalhista e complexa para criar o ar misterioso que rodeia a casa Bly.
Embora a monotonia lidere em alguns momentos, o enredo é envolvente e os personagens - principalmente as crianças - são fascinantes.
The Turn of the Screw prende o leitor, surpreendendo até a última página.
A série A Maldição da Mansão Bly, apesar de diferenciar-se da obra original em vários aspectos, também é excelente.
