"The Black Cat" is a short story by Edgar Allan Poe. It was first published in the August 19, 1843, edition of The Saturday Evening Post. It is a study of the psychology of guilt, often paired in analysis with Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart". In both, a murderer carefully conceals his crime and believes himself unassailable, but eventually breaks down and reveals himself, impelled by a nagging reminder of his guilt.

Pelo título, não esperava que fosse um conto tão pesado. Juro que pensei que fosse um livro infantil ou algo do gênero rsrs

Enquanto lê, você é transportado para um ambiente sombrio. É um conto que passa estranheza e incômodo. O protagonista é, simplesmente, um louco, culpando ao gato preto tudo o que faz de errado, não aguentando as consequências, não assumindo a própria culpa. Consegui ler sem muita dificuldade, mesmo tendo lido em Inglês.
