A história do já conhecido de outros livros Benet Wherlocke e Primrose como o livro anterior é cheio de idas e vindas atrás de um vilão que está sempre um passo a frente, os dons do protagonista ficam esquecidos pelo caminho. É mais cansativa que interessante esta história, como se a autora tivesse apenas se repetindo. O final tem um problemas de coerência: o mocinho manda construir uma estufa para a mocinha em uma casa que ele ainda não conhecia e ainda sendo no dia anterior que havia resolvido se casar. Penso que a autora não chegou a reler o que esctebeu6
