Space opera genérica

Quando eu li a sinopse desse livro, pensei que seria minha próxima leitura favoritada. Ledo engano... apesar da capa bonita (bônus!) e da sinopse interessante, a escrita da autora não conseguiu acompanhar a potencialidade da premissa.

Eu não sou muito fã de space opera, porém já li vários livros desse gênero que me ganharam (vide Starflight - Melissa Landers e Illuminae - Amie Kaufman e Jay Kristoff). A peça chave não podia ser outra: a escrita. Infelizmente, em Polaris Rising temos uma escrita mediana, que não consegue engatar no enredo nem trazer elementos diferenciais à obra, fazendo com que pareça só mais uma cópia dos inúmeros livros de viagem nas estrelas que existem por aí.

Os personagens também não cativam. Eles são bastante unidimensionais e superficiais, e os relacionamentos são muito mal desenvolvidos. A personagem principal é supostamente uma badass motherfucker mas ela não faz uma coisa sequer que comprove isso. Além disso, a autora passa um tempão descrevendo a roupa que a heroína está usando, quais sapatos seriam bons para a ocasião, mas deixa relegadas as cenas de ação e de desenvolvimento do enredo.

Não recomendo esse livro, não por ser ruim, mas por ser absolutamente genérico e sem carisma.
