Preston Jones is a Christian who knows what it means to engage with the world. A professor of history at John Brown University, a Christian college in Arkansas, Jones is a lover of thoughtful popular music who isn’t afraid to lead his students into discussions on the intersections of lyrical expression and faith. That willingness led him to the music of the punk rock band, Bad Religion. Fronted by Greg Graffin, Bad Religion reflects Graffin’s naturalistic worldview, a philosophy of life Graffin has consciously developed, especially while pursuing his Ph.D. in evolutionary biology at Cornell University.
