Adorei o livro! A escrita do Henry James é maravilhosa, capaz de transformar um plot relativamente banal ("um golpe do baú") em uma grande estória. É um livro sem muita ação, mas com diálogos tão bem desenvolvidos que não deixam o leitor sentir falta de nada. O meu capítulo preferido foi o que mostra a conversa entre Densher e Kate Croy em Veneza. Esta conversa entre os dois é o clímax da trama e o ponto de não retorno.
