Lacy trabalha em um escritório que investiga juízes corruptos. Ainda que pareça algo emocionante, ela se vê perdida na rotina, sem grandes perspectivas de seu futuro profissional (assim como o futuro pessoal). Tudo muda, quando uma mulher vai atrás dela, para contar a história de um juiz serial killer. Extremamente assustada, uma vez que seu pai foi uma das vítimas, ela pede a ajuda de Lacy, mas sem envolver forças policiais ou nada do tipo.

Os capítulos das histórias dessas duas mulheres são intercalados com capítulos que contam a história do juíz em questão. Extremamente metódico e inteligente, ele continua na ativa, cometendo seus crimes. Enquanto isso, as duas mulheres observam de longe, a procura de qualquer erro que ele possa cometer, que justifique sua acusação. Até que ele erra. Mas também, até que ele descobre quem elas são.

Para quem gosta de mistério, o livro prende muita a atenção!

Lacy works in an office that investigates corrupt judges. Even though this may seem exiting, she finds herself lost in the routine, without big expectations about her professional future (as well as her personal future). Everything changes when a woman reaches her out, to tell the story about a judge that is a serial killer. Extremally frightened, since her father was one of the victims, she asks Lacy for her help, but without reaching the police or any other similar thing.

The chapters of their story are interleaved with the chapters that tell the story of the judge. Extremally meticulous and smart, he is still active, committing his crimes. Meanwhile, the two women observe from far, looking for any type of mistake he may commit, justifying and accusation. Until the moment he makes a mistake. But, at the same point, he discovers who they are.

For people that really like mysteries, the book really makes you want to go until the end!

Uma boa leitura
O livro é bom, por vezes acaba se arrastando mais do que deveria. Não leria novamente, mas considero que foi uma boa leitura

The Judge's List
O livro é ótimo!! Toda a investigação e resolução foi excelente! O único detalhe que me incomodou foi o fato do livro só "pegar no tranco” mais ou menos na metade, o que tornou o começo da leitura um pouco cansativa até. Ver como a mente do Bannick funciona é muito interessante/assustador.
