Meu problema com esses livros é que parece que todo mundo tem um MacGyver dentro de si só esperando dar uma merda pra aflorar. O bom é que nesse livro e no livro Sem Saída as protagonistas são femininas e não deixam nada a dever pra um Jack Reacher.
No geral, o livro é bom, as crianças são pentelhas, a ilha é quase a ilha de Lost, mas dá pra ter um entretenimento interessante.

After moving from a small country town to Seattle, Heather Baxter marries Tom, a widowed doctor with a young son and teenage daughter. A working vacation overseas seems like the perfect way to bring the new family together, but once they're deep in the Australian outback, the jet-lagged and exhausted kids are so over their new mom.

Heather has been underestimated her entire life, but she knows that only she can bring her family home again and become the mother the children desperately need, even if it means doing the unthinkable to keep them all alive.

Gostei muito do ritmo da história, as coisas acontecem bem rápido e é impossível largar o livro quando uma parte mais tensa começa. Ele é bem focado no plot e não tanto nos personagens, o que tem suas vantagens e desvantagens, pois a história progride bem, mas eu não senti muita empatia e conexão com os personagens. Os capítulos curtinhos são uma delícia, o que torna ainda mais difícil parar de ler. O que eu acho que deixou a desejar foi o final, que me pareceu muito rapidamente resolvido, acabei sentindo falta de mais um capítulo ali no desfecho, nem que fossem só algumas páginas a mais para dar um sentimento de conclusão mais forte. Num geral, recomendo bastante o livro e, como fiquei sabendo que o autor já escreveu um outro livro que eu conhecia pelo nome, devo ler mais dele no futuro. Dou 4 estrelas.
