“For instance, if you come at four in the afternoon, I'll begin to be happy by three."
All I have to say about this book is only to ask me: Why didn't I read it sooner?
I am an eager reader and already knew the book by its title and cover, but even so, I had never read The Little Prince before, and even now, I have to admit that I only read because I am studying french.
It’s an internationally famous book and it’s a classic but when I was a child I had never the opportunity to read it and once I grew up I had no real interest in reading a child’s book. You must understand! There are so many books in the world that we, readers, don’t even know where to begin since we want to read almost EVERYTHING!
So that’s it, my lame excuse for why I still wasn’t aware of the beauty and sensibility of this book. I undoubtedly think it’s one of the most beautiful books I've read in my life, it addresses a plethora of important subjects with such lightness
and easygoingness that ends up being
a delightful surprise. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's writing is particularly easy to understand, even reading it in french (that it’s a language that I am still only a beginner in) I've been deeply touched.
The book makes us reflect on our lives, relationships and realize what truly matters. I am completely in love with the character of Little Prince who, in his naiveness, explains the most crucial things about life in a simple way that even we don’t realize in our quotidian life. I found it so beautiful that I cried a few (a lot of) times during the reading, this is a special book to keep in your heart for your entire life.
