É ruim? Não!
Definitivamente não chega no nível do primeiro.... sério, tem uma repetição sem fim nesse segundo livro, não só em essência mas também em atitudes.... os protagonistas simplesmente não sabem conversar pra resolver seus assuntos e insistem em vometer os mesmos erros.... não há visível evolução da parte de nenhum dos dois. Não gostei do final, entretanto, achei ele condizente com o caminhar do enredo criado.

Apesar de não ter curtido os dois ficarem separados no final e as coisas terem se resolvido bem rápido, ainda curti muito a leitura.

E vamos e aclamação
Essa duologia é muito boa, merece ser comprada por uma editora brasileira para ter uma tradução pra que mais pessoas leiam.

Gente, sério, a história é muito boa, leiam.

Ananna é uma pirata totalmente independente, dona de si, não abaixa a cabeça pra homem nenhum, está aprendendo a controlar sua magia e descobrindo ainda mais a força que habita nela. Temos representatividade LGBTQ+, com Jani uma princesa pirata apaixonada por uma rainha.
O romance entre Naji e Ananna não aconteceu do nada, ele foi muito bem construído, essa evolução de ódio para amor, carinho, cuidado, é incrível, deles descobrindo esse amor a seu tempo e sua maneira, descobrindo o esse sentimento significa, que vai além de uma maldição ou magia de sangue.

Achei que faltou um pouco nessa questão de magia, que poderia ter sido explorada mais.

Mas é um livro ótimo, melhor que o primeiro, e irei panfletar muito. Sou a primeira pessoa a falar desse livro aqui em Português, fazendo história.

I'd really be more careful with the premises. But hey, this was the part I wanted to read, so no complaints there.

I have to express here my love for these covers until it's too late. So sad now they're only avaliable in ebook. Let's change that people. They are beautiful.

Now onto the book itself: I wasn't a big fan of the writing. The way some things turned out, it was too convenient, almost too easy. On my opinion we spend too much time stranded on an island or at a palace or on a boat, without anything really happening and when something does we don't get much time to appreciate it or to merge into it and process it, next thing we now it's done and we are after the next task. This could have been a stand-alone. Or a more content filled duology. When I see a pirate and an assassin - both with magic - I expect more action than that.

However, let me tell you why this wasn't a waste of time for me: The character development. I could see clearly how much Naji, Ananna and Marjani grew, and this is the most real part of all fantasy. And perhaps of all genres. I party when it is done well. Here it was.

I was plesantly surprised by some laughs and smiles through this book. It was a light, fantasy read. I love fantasy, and any attempt on High Fantasy, any author who puts his - or in this case her - efforts in creating a new world and its creatures and its magic sistem will be worth my time. Because creativity is priceless, and organizing creativity in a way it works may be one of the hardest tasks anyone can have.

The story had its flaws, but it worked.
