There must always be Time Enough For Love!
Indeed. Love...
Even though this book is science fiction, it could be interpreted as a strange, unorthodox, but truthfull ode to love.
The book tells the story of Lazarus Long, The Senior, oldest human alive in the universe. It starts during a frustrated suicide attempt by him (this is no spoiler so f*ck off) and ends in a... Well this would be a spoiler so let me just tell you you it ends with a bang!
Even though it has a great premise, it is not a great book, it's interesting, funny, and incredibly witty (mostly in the beggining), but all in all I think it only wants to prove one single point: Humans don't change.
Technology changes, space travel appears, but humans are still the same frustrated, violent, resourceful bunch. It did remind me of "Back to the Future: The Game" in wich Doc's sons study one in Victorian England and the other in the future, the idea being it doesn't really matter.
One thing I must point out is the amount of incest in the book. it does bothers absolutely everyone! Still in this subject, the author (the great Heinlein!) Seems to be in a cruzade against jealousy but it does stumble with it in a particular moment.
Again, this is not a spoiler but, one of the characters most importat for the main character, decides her life simply because she didn't want to live in the same planet as his former wife.
A good book, but to call a Heinlein "good" is already an offense. I recommend it only to science fiction aficionados.
