Ah, Ruth é uma das histórias que mais me encanta na Bíblia. O amor e fidelidade que Ruth tem para com Naomi, sua sogra, é intenso e grande. Não é o tipo de amor nora-sogra que a gente vê muito por aí! kkkkkkkk

Mesmo depois de viúva, Ruth continuou com a sogra, chegando até a deixar sua casa, bens e família dos pais para trás, e ir para a cidade natal da sogra, Belém.

Ao chegar lá, elas passam a morar numa caverna. Praticamente passando fome. Os amigos de juventude de Naomi se espantam ao vê-la sozinha e desprovida de tudo que é coisa, tendo apenas a companhia da nora, uma estrangeira.

Ruth é maltrata pelo povo. Entretanto, ela consegue emprego numa colheira. De quem? De Boaz, filho de Raabe e Salmon, um homem íntegro e generoso, que a ajuda sem esperar nada em troca. Porém, ele se apaixona por ela, e ela também se sente bem ao seu lado, percebendo que está se apaixonando por ele, ela dá uma retraída, afinal, ainda ama o falecido marido.

Naomi sabe que Boaz poderia ajudá-las e percebe seu amor recém-nascido por Ruth, assim, orientando-a a conversar com ele.

A história é curta, rápida e simples. No entanto, é maravilhosa. A fé de Ruth, Naomi e Boaz é riquíssima. Eles não só confiam em Deus, como também são muito bons e respeitadores um com o outro.

Boaz é um gentleman! Um fofo! A ajuda e amor que ele tem para com Ruth é uma fofura de viver! E ele é supertímido, o que me deixou suspirando, devo dizer!

A Naomi é outra figura! Sofreu muito, mas sempre manteve a fé, o amor e a esperança em alta! Muito guerreira e deu sábios ensinamentos a Ruth, até mais que a própria mãe da garota.

A Ruth é outra guerreira! Esforçadíssima e faz de tudo para o bem de Naomi. Sem reclamar! Trabalha que nem uma condenada e se alegra da oportunidade que Boaz lhe deu!

Um livro muito bom e esclarecedor de ler!

As dúvidas que eu tinha sobre a cultura, e o porquê da Ruth ir até o Boaz e tal, foram bem sanadas!

Francine Rivers arrasou como sempre!

I've been fascinated with Ruth's history for as long as I can remember. I've always seen her as the faithful, brave, and strong widow that she was. It's a matter of choice ? all these women (from the lineage of grace) made the right decisions by choosing God, and that's why they prospered. Orpah returned to her home, while Ruth followed her mother-in-law and gave birth to the child who would become King David's grandfather. Although she was a foreigner, her love and commitment to her duties gave her the strength to emigrate and work tirelessly, despite knowing her acceptance might not be the most welcoming.
Naomi had a bitter time, losing almost everything, but God was with her as well. Her perspective was full of wisdom and grace. Ruth, in my eyes, is the kind of woman I've always admired. The age gap between the couple may seem odd in today's context, but it's mostly a generational matter.
It's quite immersive, the book was awesome! I spend the entire day thinking what it was like to live in those times. I'm sure I would love to meet Ruth and have a chat with her, she was a impressive woman.
The Holy Bible is definitely the most tremendous book, and I'm grateful that God left His words for us, the scripture is always a comfort, leading and guiding us. Furthermore, I couldn't thank Francine enough for her work in crafting this great collection, bringing the history of these fearless women to life in a Christian fiction with these amazing perspectives, I had so much fun!
