William Boyd
Escritor britânico, nascido em 1952, em Acra, a capital do Gana. Filho de um médico e de uma professora, acompanhou a família na sua mudança para a Nigéria, ocorrida em virtude da proclamação da independência do Gana, em 1957. <br>Boyd é autor de um livro de não ficção, três coletâneas de contos e catorze romances incluindo o thriller histórico <i>Fuga</i> — vencedor do Costa Novel of the Year — e <i>As aventuras de um coração humano</i>, em que Ian Fleming aparece como personagem. Entre seus outros prêmios, estão o Whitbread First Novel Prize, o John Llewellyn Rhys Prize, o James Tait Black Memorial Prize e o Prix Jean Monnet. Boyd também é membro da Real Sociedade de Letras e Officier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. Em 2005, foi condecorado com a ordem CBE do Império Britânico.
