The Dark Days Club (Lady Helen #1)

Good help is hard to find in London in 1812, especially when housemaids are disappearing into the night. Fallen women, it is presumed, but the disturbing trend has caught the notice of Lady Helen Wrexhall.

Eighteen-year-old Lady Helen is on the eve of her debut presentation at the royal court of George III and Queen Charlotte. Her life should be about gowns and dancing, and securing a suitable marriage. Instead, Lady Helen is drawn to the shadows of Regency London. It is in these shadows that she finds William, the Earl of Carlston. He has noticed the disappearances too, and it's his family duty to stop the perpetrators: a cabal of powerful demons that has infiltrated all levels of society.

Lady Helen's curiosity is unwelcome to William - perhaps even a danger - especially when he sees the cleverness behind her fluttering fan. When Lady Helen's own beloved maid goes missing, there is only one person she knows will help. Lord Carlston. But can she trust a man whose reputation is almost as black as his lingering eyes? And will her headstrong sense of justice lead them both into a death trap?

LADY HELEN AND THE DARK DAYS CLUB is the first in a series of Regency adventures set in the glittering social whirl of the Beau Monde, and featuring Lady Helen Wrexhall and Lord Carlston as they investigate a terrifying demonic conspiracy that threatens to plunge the newly Enlightened world back into darkness.
