This is the first book published by Agatha Christie and the first Hercule Poirot Mystery. This edition brings a novelty: for the first time, this book is published with a previously deleted scene, exactly the last chapter, the one in which Poirot unveils the murder plot and reveals the murderer. The publishers had asked Agatha to change the scene from a trial court to the living-room of the Styles mansion, although the end of the book has remained quite the same. So this edition presents both endings: the one previously written by Agatha and the one proposed by the editors. In addition, it presents a valuable commentary from Agatha Christie expert John Curran.
