The witch of the blackbird pond

New England of 1687 is a place of strict social codes and harsh punishment, where an outsider is eyed with both fear and suspicion. Young girls grow to become young wives without education, or the benefits of independence.

Enter Kit, a young girl with a dark past, who is kind and gentle but possessed with an untamed spirit. She brings light to this dark village, upsetting and challenging the old ways. Defying local norms, she befriends Hannah, an outcast old woman who lives in a shack at Blackbird Pond. When an outbreak of disease ravages the town, hushed whispers turn to accusations of the unthinkable…witchcraft.
