"after the quake" (o título traduzido é assim mesmo, em letras minúsculas, de acordo com um pedido do próprio Murakami) é uma coletânea de histórias que, diferente da outra lida durante o projeto #Murakamando, "The Elephant Vanishes" ("O Elefante Desaparece"), possui um grande tema: o terremoto Kobe que, em 1995, abalou o Japão.
