1897, São Paulo.
The journalist Fernando meets again Mário, his ambitious childhood friend that now shows off a successful fabric’s factory. Willing to reacquire the friendship they had in the past, Fernando starts to attend his friend’s house many times.
In addition to Mário being a wealthy man, he married a beautiful and shy young woman named Corina. And she, without any pretense, wins Fernando's heart.
