The short story presented here is little known in Portuguese. Initially written as a kind of prologue to the novel Dracula (1987), Brsm Stoker ended up agreeing with his editor that the text was autonomous and historically disjointed from the novel, so he chose to cut it oi,as the narrative was already quite long.

"Dracula's Guest" was then published as one of the short stories in the collection Dracula's Guest and Other Weird Stories.

Bram Stoker é autor de uma das maiores obras de estilo gótico da história, Drácula, que se tornou um ícone da cultura popular. Apesar de, na minha opinião, o estilo em diário tornar a narrativa um pouco demorada e lenta, o medo e a angústia se tornam muito palpáveis.
