Някога тук се издигала огромна къща в ренесансов стил, построена през далечната 1889 г. от милионера Андрю Пендълтън. През 1897 г. жена му и двете му деца изчезнали безследно, а Андрю изгубил разсъдъка си и се застрелял.

Домът бил купен от богат собственик на въглищни мини, който живял в него до 1935 г. Тогава икономът му внезапно полудял, избил цялото семейство заедно с прислугата и се самоубил. Осем от 16-те трупа така и не били открити.

През 1938 г. къщата се сдобила с трети собственик – петролен магнат, който бил ерген и умрял в съня си през 1972 г. След смъртта му домът бил преименуван на „Пендълтън" и превърнат в жилищна кооперация с 23 луксозни апартамента, като по време на ремонта част от строителните работници изчезнали загадъчно.

Днес къщата има разнородни обитатели, сред които бивш сенатор, бивш морски пехотинец и виден учен, като никой от тях и не подозира за мрачното минало на постройката, белязано от лудост, загадки и смърт.
