High in the pine forests of the Spanish Sierra, a guerrilla band prepares to blow up a vital bridge. Robert Jordan, a young American volunteer, has been sent to handle the dynamiting. Que romance é esse! A maior história de guerra do século XX, talvez. Há muita força nessa história. Os personagens - depois da leitura, nunca se esquece da poderosa Pilar; ela domina todas as cenas. Eu a achei a emoção instrumental central do livro. A redação é única, requintada e compassiva. Os cenários na floresta de pinheiros, a comida, o vinho; todos levam você para lá.
