Assim como em My Dearest Darkest, esse livro foi uma bela surpresa! A escrita tá Kayla é muito boa, leve e fluída. Ela consegue misturar tanta coisa que você nem imaginava e ainda sim continuar com um enredo muito bem construído.

Zoey, Celeste, Valeria, e Jasmine são quatro melhores amigas Ghouls que passaram por uma mutação apelidada como Hollowing, onde os afetados só conseguem sobreviver a base de carne humana.
Mas, felizmente, os cientistas conseguiram criar uma versão sintética de carne humana que satisfaz a fome. Isso não quer dizer que suas vidas serão mais fáceis.

Juntas elas decidem viajar para curtir um festival de música no deserto, elas só não esperavam encontrar conspirações e tramas assassinas que querem acabar com os Ghouls por trás de tudo. Parece que esse festival vai ficar um pouco sangrento!!

Vou começar dizendo que amei os flashbacks do passado das meninas, ver tudo o que elas tiveram que passar e passam até hoje, fez com que eu as entendesse muito mais. É muito bonito a forma que todas se uniram e apoiam umas as outras independente de qualquer coisa.

Foi muito divertido ver elas tentando descobrir um pouco mais do que estava rolando e ver o desenrolar da trama só piorando cada vez mais. Como papel de fundo, ainda tem o interesse amoroso entre Zoey e Celeste, fica claro que elas se gostam, mas ambas tem medo de admitir.
Confesso que gostei do papel de Cole na história, ele foi um empurrãozinho a mais, para que Zoey e Celeste pudessem em fim se confessarem uma para a outra.

?This Delicious Death? foi uma leitura sáfica, fofa, leve e divertida. Você vai amar mergulhar de cabeça nesse universo um pouco louco e sangrento.

Four best friends with a hunger for human flash attend a musical festival, what was supposed to be a fun thing in the desert became a gory plot against them.
I saw this book in a list of upcoming horror novels for 2023 and when I read the sinopse I just thot that this was something new to me. The hole plot of they being ghouls and some starting to becoming something else in a place full of humans and other ghouls with music involved sounds cool.
Honestly when I finished the book I though this was a enjoyable 3,5 stars reading, with a good friends to lovers but the ending plot was underwhelming and could be better to me.

I liked the writing and felt that the pacing was fluid and worked with the whole scenario of a festival in the desert.
Something that I found frustrating was how fast the important things where.

The main characters are Zoey, Celeste, Valeria and Jasmine are ghouls (or hallow girls) that are living in Southern California and go to the festival together.
The friends for lovers romance was chefs kiss and I loved it.

The flashback to the past of what happened in the hollow and what the girls in the moments that they where transforming was interesting but the whole thing of the timeline of “acceptance” was too fast to me.
