The storyline of the third book was utterly insane. I could barely think straight when I finished it, I realized I'd been wrong about almost everything all along. Not only were Lemony's questions wrong, but some of his answers were as well, yet he didn't share this with the reader until the end. I'm eagerly anticipating reading the final book, and I'm grateful to have become a reader of these captivating series by Sir Snicket.
Lemony is the most intriguing character I've seen. Though just a child in this saga, he's more clever and smart than anyone else. It broke my heart to see his perspective on Bertrand Baudelaire, anyone who has read ASOUE knows how much he cared about Beatrice's children. He deserved a family, but he chose to be the hero.
I'm still frustrated with Theodora for her foolishness, but Lemony put her in her place, and it felt satisfying. ?I only work with competent associates I can trust.? HA!
I don't have much to say about Ellington. She and Lemony were cute, but there was something off. Moxie seems jealous, and I hope she has the courage to be honest with him. As we know from the future, it seems unlikely to happen.
The background, the storyline, the writing, everything is outstanding and remarkable. Another stunning book by Lemony, and I'm not even surprised. So many revelations about VFD and Snicket's stories! I wish there were more books in this series, I've been having a fantastic experience, a phrase which here means I can't wait to read the next one. The world is being quieter here.
