A serious cliché.
This was the first book I've read which shows a situation's picture of a woman who has gotten into an obsessive relationship;
What I liked the most about the story is that Cassie has never been physically abused before reporting it.
I've already met people who said that a woman who reports her partner's behavior, without physical abuse, is only up for drama. This kind of comment gets me hot under the collar. A woman has the right to not be terrorized or tormented. And to say, for even one second, this ain't a crime seems to me morally wrong.
For what it counts, this book shows this conflict, where women consider it not to be a serious matter. But Cassie realized that it wasn't something to be accepted and acted on that realization.
Obviously, it can't be put aside that this book, in spite of approaching sensible subjects, remains an adolescent cliché;
It presents a light and easy read. Even the most charged events of the narrative are soften out. And, of course, there is that archetyped romance everyone have read or watched at least once.
But, even with the clichés, the book still gave me goosebumps. In spite of being sort of predictable, the story was written well enough to not be at all silly, and to be an exciting experience to the reader.
P.S. Sorry for talking so much about something outside of the book. I got carried out.
