Kathryn Lasky é uma autora americana bem conceituada, que tem em seu nome vários livros de ficção e não-ficção bastante famosos. As séries "Dear America", "The Royal Diaries", "Sugaring Time", "The Night Journey", e "the Guardians of Ga'Hoole". Sendo o último um dos mais conhecidos por todo mundo, aqui no Brasil chamado de "A lenda dos guardiões". Kathryn Lasky cresceu em Indianapolis, e é casada com Christopher Knight, com quem vive em Cambridge MA. Ela também é uma ótima autora de livros "Não-Ficção". O Décimo-quinto livro, "The War of the Ember", é o último livro da Série de Ga'Hoole. E em 2010, Lasky lançou um novo livro, "The Lone Wolf", parte da série "Wolves of the Beyond" (Ainda não lançado no Brasil) que toma lugar das "Corujas de Ga'hoole".
