The purpose of this work is not to give an exhaustive account of the various avataras of Vaishnavism nor the Christological controversies in Christianity. Instead the book re-examines the findings of scholars regarding the nature of these religions of grace and love revealed through Christ and Krishna incarnations, to investigate the inner unity of these two religions on the basis of the inner life of incarnations. It is also necessary to re-interpret and restate in modern terms the traditional orthodoxy regarding the concept of religion and incarnation in particular in the context of the recent development in the field of philosophy and religion.
