Giving into their longings is blissful at first…and then it isn’t. With her friendship with Luke suddenly on the brink of ruin and her family more disappointed in her than ever, Emma is desperate to fix things. This time, though, there’s no way to fake it. To untangle this mess, it’s going to require digging deep, fessing up the bare truth…and maybe a Mai Tai or two.

Um friends-to-lovers bem gostinho de ler

Na viagem, para do Havaí, do aniversário de 30 anos de casados dos pais, Emma decide que não quer ficar na sombra da irmã mais velha, Catharine, e decide que vai apresentar um namorado para a família nesta viagem. Só que o ponto é: ela não tem namorado. Depois de Emma pensar bastante no assunto, ela decide que vai chamar Luke para ser seu namorado de mentirinha. No começo, Luke fica relutante, mas depois de pensar bastante, ele aceita.

Não espere grandes coisas deste livro, um livro clichê do começo ao fim, mas que diverte bastante o leitor. Poderia dar uma ótima adaptação para filme da Netflix.
Em diversas situação, me vi rindo das situações e das ações que os personagens tinham de fazer.
Emma e Luke são amigos de longa data (seis anos), então, mesmo que por poucas páginas, a gente consegue sentir química; e a gente também conseguer crer na amizade deles. As interações deles me faziam rir muito.
No final, a autora deu uma rushada na estória, o que me fez tirae 0,5 da nota.
Recomendo para quem já sabe pelo
menos o mínimo de inglês.
