Sweet as a shortcake...

Shortcake conta a história da Emmy (Emelia), que por alguns meses foi enfermeira/ cuidadora da Rosie, uma senhora que, apesar de ter várias amigas e ser muito querida, vivia sozinha e não recebia muito a visita dos familiares. Quando Rosie morre, ela deixa um testamento um pouco controverso envolvendo seu neto Ben e Emmy.
Emmy e Ben são pessoas com personalidades muito diferentes, porém com traumas que os marcaram profundamente.
Jogando a real: a história tem alguns pequenos absurdos e alguns plots corridos e/ou com alguns buraquinhos, mas é muito envolvente, muito leve (mesmo quando falava dos traumas dos personagens, pois a autora não se aprofundou muito neles) e os personagens são muito carismáticos... eu não conseguia largar o livro.
Eu vou começar minha próxima leitura ainda muito apegada ao Ben, Emmy e seu grupo de amigos; que vai de caras sexys e tatuados a senhorinhas fofoqueiras. Adorei!
