Conviction

Na trilogia The Sophisticates nos situamos em um Estados Unidos 30 anos após um grande ataque terrorista em Nova York, onde o governo decidiu criar o Programa, uma iniciativa que realizou modificações genéticas em crianças tornando-as mais inteligentes e fortes, estes são os chamados Sophisticates.

No primeiro livro da série acompanhamos Cleo, uma Sophisticate que acredita ter mais aptidões da área intelectual, porém que, após um incidente, é mandada para a Academia, onde os Mandates, Sophisticates com aptidões físicas, são treinados.

Acreditando que um erro foi cometido, lá ela terá que se adptar a um novo ambiente, fazendo novas amizades e inimigos e descobrindo segredos do programa e sobre si mesma.

O segundo livro continua onde o primeiro se encerrou, após a descoberta da existência dos Outros, os gêmeos dos Deviant Dozen.

Enquanto Ozzy e alguns dos membros do grupo tentam encontrar pistas sobre os Outros, acontecimentos estranhos começam a ocorrer na Academia e tudo indica que Cleo é a culpada, porém ela não tem memória de realizar os atos.

Assim como em Deviation, Conviction trás uma leitura de ritmo fluído e dinâmico. O enredo do segundo volume é um pouco mais lento, porém temos boas cenas de embate e um final com um ótimo gancho, que deixa o leitor louco para ler o próximo livro.

Leitura recomendada para quem lê em inglês e gosta de distopias, com um quê de X-Men. Atualmente no Kindle Unlimeted para quem possui a assinatura.
