Anne and Gilbert Blythe now have six children and are happily settled in Ingleside. Life is never dull in the Blythe family as the youngsters have inherited the brains, imagination, and stubbornness of their parents - not to mention the same knack for getting into scrapes! When the Blythe siblings make friends with the four motherless Meredith children, high jinks ensue in a grassy hollow that they name Rainbow Valley. It becomes a place for them to play, to imagine their wildest dreams - and to learn the difficult business of growing up.
