Peter Newmark FIL, formerly Dean of the School of Languages of the Polytechnic Central London, has since 1977, been the chairman of the Council of the Institute of Linguistics. He lectures widely and is the author of many articles for journals, including Incorporated Linguist, Babel, and Fremdsprachen. He has algo translated nooks on Klee and Dürer and written on French translations criticism. His new book A Textbook of Translation is also published by Prentice-Hall Internacional.
