    Gut-wrenchingly Beautiful

I don’t even know what to say. I bought the book knowing nothing about the story just because i trusted ben that much - cut scene - i’m crying non-stop throught the little great hours that took me to finish this, i wasn’t able to stop until i was done. And i don’t even know what to say. I rated this ‘really good’ because i think it’s important. The depction of trauma in the character of Zach, Rafael, Sharkey, and the glimpeses we get from other characters, feels true and real and heartbreaking. The different backgrounds and coping mechanims of these characters breaks the stigma that trauma has one(1) specific form. Guess what i am trying to say is: this book shows how easy it is to get trapped by the nightmares of these characters - the addiction and all other kinds of coping-mechanims or lack there-of. And most importantly, shows how much it matters to try and get help, how much it matters to remember even if it hurts like hell, how much it matters to Zach to let go of the bourbon and start living again. I am so happy he gets to live again.
