Não é dos meus volumes favoritos de crítica; não me deixou a mesma sensação de anseio por ler cada obra citada, algo que sempre acontece com Eco ou Manguel. Mas é um ponto de entrada para a obra de Woolf, suas primeiras experiências em publicação - algo que lhe deu a independência financeira que reputa tão importante em seu mais famoso ensaio.
