Elizabeth travels to Derbyshire with her aunt and uncle Gardiner, and while they tour Pemberley grounds, her and Mr Darcy's paths cross again. Elizabeth, remorse over her past behaviour towards the gentleman, is astonished at Mr Darcy's alteration in manner and attention he bestows on her. The man is humble enough to correct his previous mistakes and ill-judged pride and wants to be a better man worthy of Elizabeth's love and esteem. Hence, a courtship begins but is soon disrupted by unexpected circumstances, which prolongs Elizabeth's stay in Derbyshire, residing now at Pemberley.
