Foi no inverno de 2010, com as névoas rolando pelos campos e a noite rastejando pelos bosques que cercavam sua casa no sudoeste da França, que seus pensamentos se voltaram para escrever, e mais especificamente - vampiros. Ela queria escrever desde muito jovem e fez várias tentativas quando adolescente, mas nunca conseguiu terminar nada. Lá em Dordogne, alguns anos depois, aconteceu muito naturalmente. Desde esse dia, ela escreveu dez romances e o mesmo número de contos. 2017 marca o ano em que ela finalmente conseguiu viver seu sonho e escrever em período integral, e ela não quer perder um minuto! Ela vive na zona rural da França desde 1998, um grande choque para uma garota que viveu toda a sua vida fora de Londres. Ela sobreviveu ao encanamento francês, saqueava vacas, caiu em pranchas podres e três partos em casa (enquanto a parteira sentava no andar de baixo conversando com a outra metade e bebendo vinho tinto).
