The Wardstone Chronicles (Published in the United States as The Last Apprentice and in the UK as The Spook's Apprentice) is a dark fantasy series of books written by the author Joseph Delaney and first published in Great Britain by The Bodley Head. The series is about a seventh son of a seventh son, Thomas J. Ward , who can see and sense creatures of the dark and other things that others cannot. He is apprenticed to train as a "Spook" so he may learn how to deal with the dark. Along the way Thomas J. Ward meets a lot of interesting characters. Other books were released in the same universe but following different characters or stories.
