Just as she achieves her recovery, Nicci, a long time slave of Jagang and the Imperial Order, arrives to take Richard away. She links herself through a "maternity spell" to Kahlan, forcing Richard to choose Kahlan's death or his departure from her. Richard chooses Kahlan's life above his own and leaves with Nicci.

Muito bom!

Angustiante, apresentando a fundo pela primeira vez os ideais revoltantes da Ordem, e com alguns momentos de emoção ímpar - sem contar as doses estratosféricas de sofrimento amoroso, socorro! Meu favorito ainda é Temple of the Winds (lógico!), mas FotF sobe para o segundo lugar. Sem contar que: um livro merecidamente bom após o fiasco de Soul of the Fire. Adorei!
