Na verdade não "li" esse livro, mas sim o traduzi, o que corresponde a muito mais do que uma leitura, mas uma verdadeira análise do escrito, já que uma tradução demanda, no mínimo, três leituras do texto traduzido.

Nesta obra Larry W. Hurtado provou porque é hoje, talvez, a maior autoridade no mundo sobre o Cristianismo primitivo ou "nascente". Tendo como base, e ultrapassando, aquela que até então era o marco referencial de estudos sobre o Cristianismo primitivo, "Kyrios Christos" (Bousset), Hurtado se aprofunda no desenvolvimento do padrão "binitário" de adoração que caracterizou os primeiros círculos cristãos.
