Jesus' Son, the first collection of stories by Denis Johnson, presents a unique, hallucinatory vision of contemporary American life, and marks a new level of achievement for this acclaimed writer. Denis Johnson é um escritor americano nascido em Munique, na Alemanha Ocidental, em 1949, e criado em Tóquio, Manila e Washington. É autor de oito romances, além de volumes de poesia, contos e reportagens. Ficou conhecido pela coletânea de contos <i>Jesus' Son</i> (1992), levada às telas num filme estrelado por Billy Crudup e Dennis Hopper. <i>Árvore de Fumaça</i> (2007) é seu primeiro romance em oito anos e foi vencedor do National Book Award de 2007 e indicado ao Prêmio Pulitzer de 2008. Em 2012, Johnson foi novamente finalista do Prêmio Pulitzer, com a novela <i>Sonhos de Trem</i> (2002).
