E se o executado for inocente?

A fórmula já havia sido usada antes, ao menos uma vez em um romance policial. Em 1932, Agatha Christie e outros 12 integrantes do Detenction Club se juntaram para escrever "A morte do almirante". Em 2011, 26 autores escreveram "No rest for the dead". É um bom romance policial, com passagens muito boas, outras de fraca verossimilhança e um final mais ou menos surpreendente.
O trecho mais contundente é a descrição realista da execução de uma mulher acusada de assassinato. Ela é mãe de dois filhos e nega o crime até os momentos finais, dramáticos. Se ela é culpada pela morte do marido ou não, é uma dúvida que o leitor só vai esclarecer no final. Mas a leitura deve provocar questionamentos até no mais convicto defensor da pena de morte.
