De forma geral, a série tem uma progressão pequeno ao longo dos livros, tendo 6 livros para o período de um ano - e tendo um pulo de alguns meses.
Ever é o tipo de personagem que você sente agonia durante muito tempo, porque sabe que as decisões dela vão ser desastrosas, e são. Ao final dos livros, principalmente nos dois últimos, ela acaba desenvolvendo um "senso" e uma intuição que ajuda nas decisões, fazendo com o final seja digno para a série.
