Harry Kurt Victor Mulisch foi um escritor holandês autor de diversas obras, sendo as mais famosas The Discovery of Heaven e O Atentado. O Atentado foi adaptado ao cinema em 1986, ganhando Oscar de melhor filme estrangeiro no mesmo ano. Discovery of Heaven também foi transposta para filme em 2001. Sua obra é bastante diversificada, abrangendo não apenas romances, mas também contos, ensaios, livros de poesia e peças de teatro. Seus livros foram traduzidos para mais de 20 idiomas. Mulisch faleceu, aos 83 anos de idade, no sábado, dia 30 de outubro de 2010 acabando com o sonho de muitos holandeses de vê-lo ganhar o Prêmio Nobel de literatura.
