Lyudmila Stefanovna Petrushevskaya nasceu em 26 de maio de 1938. A escritora, novelista e dramaturga iniciou a carreira escrevendo e montando peças, que eram censuradas pelo governo soviético e, após a Perestroika, publicou diversos trabalhos de prosa.
