The 11th volume of Legion of Super-Heroes Archives is marked by the full-time arrival of artist Mike Grell. The stories, in Superboy 203-212, were mostly by Cary Bates and E. Nelson Bridwell before Legion legend Jim Shooter returned, and the general format was a main story followed by a shorter story concentrating on a Legionnaire or two. The stories--the Legion of Super-Executioners, the Legion of Super-Villains, a showdown with a band of Legion rejects, a ghostly soldier--are enjoyable but minor, and even the death of a Legionnaire seems like an anti-climax. Still, no one could draw Dream Girl in a negligee quite like Grell.
