It's nothing like the movie but it's worth it

The book and the movie are two completely different universes. While the movie is indeed a romantic, magical and heartwarming Christmas story, this book is a comfortable, jolly, messy adventure.

At times the story got a bit too drawn out for me and the pairing, in the end, is a little disappointing, most of because of the lacking of character development and breaking of expectations. Actually, for me, the biggest problem was not enhancing the atmosphere behind the characters' interests in each other. I guess the author wanted to give more context of the character's own feelings and thoughts as a little plot twist, what happens, but things get sorted too down the line, and unfortunately, it didn't captivate me enough to fall for their love story as in the movie.

Besides those particularities, I overall really enjoyed the reading. It's a very light, charming book to take your mind off reality. I have to say it's also quite intriguing. From the middle to the end, I couldn't stop reading because I was getting more and more interested in discovering how the story would be resolved, as each chapter created more layers to it.
